2 April 2024The Durner Family
14 May 2024We have been buying citrus fruits from Mammarancia for several years, and we had a growing curiosity: we wanted to see for ourselves where and how these delicious fruits that arrive on our table every season are grown. Deciding to visit this family business in Francofonte was the best choice we could have made.
A warm and authentic welcome
From the first moment, we felt at home. Graziella welcomed us with such a sincere smile that we felt like we had known each other forever. Meeting in person who is behind a company we appreciate so much was a real pleasure, and her way of explaining every detail of their work immediately won us over.
A walk among the citrus groves
The most fascinating part of our visit was undoubtedly the tour among the citrus groves. Walking through rows and rows of orange trees, breathing in the fragrant air and admiring the golden red fruit was magical. Graziella passionately told us the story of their company and showed us how each tree receives specific care. We had never seen an irrigation system so carefully calibrated to save water and keep the soil fertile.
As we walked, we were allowed to pick and taste oranges straight from the tree. They were the sweetest and juiciest oranges we had ever tasted. Our son was enchanted by the experience, and at one point he ran through the trees with a smile we will never forget. It was a day he will remember for a long time.
Discovering the secrets of organic cultivation
Besides the beauty of nature, what really impressed us was the dedication with which the Mammarancia family takes care of its fruit. Duilio told us about their commitment to certified organic cultivation, explaining how each step is followed with great care, from the moment the flowers bloom to the picking of the oranges.
Duilio, again, showed us the beating heart of the farm, the fields where the fruits we love so much grow. It was fantastic for our son to see up close how the land is worked and to discover the secrets of caring for the trees. Now, every time he tastes one of their oranges, he can remember the warmth of Sicily.
A family that lives by its fruits
Mammarancia is not just a company, it is a family that lives for its fruit. They opened the doors of their business to us with a kindness we did not expect. It was evident how much love and dedication there is behind each orange.
A memory we will always carry with us
Our visit was truly unforgettable. Not only did we learn so much about citrus fruits and their organic cultivation, but we also met wonderful people.
Thanks to Graziella, Enzo, Duilio, Ilaria and Norma, who welcomed us as part of the family. Now, every time we order a crate of oranges from Mammarancia, it will not just be fruit that walks through our door, but a piece of Sicily and the hearts that work behind it.
Thank you again for this wonderful experience!
With affection the Rainer family
